Literally awesome.

What is a word you feel that too many people use?

  1. “Literally”: People often say “literally” when what they really mean is “figuratively.” I have been known to use this one literally all the time and also in the wrong way. Whoops.
  2. “Awesome”: I think that awesome (and amazing) have lost their impact due to the frequent use. Originally intended to describe something awe-inspiring or breathtaking, it is now usually used to describe normal, everyday occurrences, or things I say to my kids when they tell at me to watch them do something. Sometimes it really is awe-inspiring, sometimes it isn’t.
