Embracing My Journey to a Beautiful Smile: My Clear Aligner Experience
Introduction:
Hey there, fellow readers! Today, I want to share a personal story that has been a long time coming. It’s about my decision to finally take charge of my dental health and embark on a journey to straighten my teeth using clear aligners. Trust me, it’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I’m excited to share my experiences and newfound confidence with you all.
The Embarrassment Behind My Smile:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always felt a pang of embarrassment whenever I smiled in photos. It’s not that I lacked joy or happiness, but rather, my crooked teeth made me self-conscious. I found myself avoiding close-up shots or even covering my mouth when laughing. It was time to put an end to this insecurity and embrace a change that would not only enhance my appearance but also improve my oral health.
The Clear Aligner Solution:
After conducting thorough research and seeking advice from my dentist, I decided that clear aligners were the way to go. Unlike traditional metal braces, clear aligners offered a discreet and convenient alternative to straighten my teeth. Plus, they promised minimal impact on my daily life, allowing me to maintain my regular routines without feeling like a metal-mouthed teenager.
The Journey Begins:
Once deciding that clear aligners were the way to go, I looked into a few options and found that my insurance (Medicaid) only covers metal braces. So I checked out a few different companies online and ultimately chose “Byte”. After signing up for an impressions kit, they sent it pretty quickly. I did two top and two bottom impressions and sealed it up to send back. Did I mention that Byte has an advisor set up a pickup from the post office FOR you? Also the postage is already paid, wow! I took pictures of my entire mouth, from all sides, and uploaded them online to my Byte profile. After waiting a few days my treatment plan was sent to me, I paid using Care Credit, and after approving my alignment plan, I am waiting for them to be made and arrive.
Anxious To Start:
After seeing my plan, in 3D, I have to admit that I’m really excited and nervous. I’ll post my before and planned after model below. I’ll keep you updated on the treatment! Thanks for reading!
